About the lab
Where is the lab?
Lema Lab works from two sites in Istanbul, at Lema Clinic Ikitelli in Küçükçekmece and at Lema Clinic Marina. Your restorations are designed and made in the clinic's own lab, so your dentist and the technicians work side by side.
Why does it matter that the clinic has its own lab?
Your dentist and the technicians work side by side. Questions about shape or colour are answered in person, and small adjustments do not have to be sent to another city and back.
Who makes my restoration?
CAD designers plan it digitally, and ceramists stain, layer and finish it by hand. They work from your dentist's treatment plan and photos of your smile.
Does the lab work for other clinics?
No. The lab makes restorations only for Lema Clinic patients.
Can I see the lab during my visit?
Ask your coordinator. When the schedule allows, patients can see where their restorations are made.
How it's made
Will I have my own designer?
Yes. A dedicated designer is assigned to your case. You describe the smile you have in mind, and your designer plans it with you and your dentist before anything is made.
How is my restoration made?
Your dentist scans your teeth in the clinic. Your designer plans the restoration on screen, your dentist approves the design, and it is milled on a 5-axis machine, fired in an Ivoclar Programat furnace and finished by hand before fitting.

How long does the lab need?
Typical lab working days are below. Your full treatment timeline depends on your plan and is set by your dentist.
- 3–5 daysMultilayer Zirconia
- 4–6 daysE-max Veneers
- 7–10 daysImplant Hybrid Bars
- 24–48hDigital Smile Design
How is the colour of my teeth matched?
Your dentist records the shade with a shade guide and photos in daylight. For front teeth, the ceramist may check the colour with you in person before finishing.
Can I see my new smile before it is made?
Yes. With Digital Smile Design, your smile is planned from your photos and scans, and a try-in is made so you can see it in your mouth before treatment starts.
How are try-ins made?
Try-in teeth are printed in the lab on Asiga 3D printers from your approved design. You try them in, give feedback on shape and length, and your designer adjusts the final restoration.
What if something needs adjusting?
Because the lab is part of the clinic, your dentist can bring a restoration to the technician directly. Small adjustments are usually made during your stay.
Materials
Zirconia or E-max: what is the difference?
Zirconia is very strong and suits back teeth, bridges and full-arch work. E-max is a glass-ceramic with more translucency and suits veneers and front teeth. Your dentist recommends the material for each tooth.
- ZirconiaStrength · back teeth
- E-maxTranslucency · front teeth
Which brands do you use?
The lab is an Ivoclar partner and uses more Ivoclar materials than any other lab in the world: zirconia and IPS e.max glass-ceramic from Ivoclar, fired in Ivoclar Programat furnaces. Implant restorations are built on original components from the implant system in your treatment plan.
Will my veneers look natural?
Multilayer materials change colour gradually from neck to edge like natural teeth, and the ceramist adds stain and glaze by hand for depth and translucency.
Are the materials recorded?
Yes. The materials used for your restoration and their lot numbers are recorded in your patient file.
Care
How do I look after crowns and veneers?
Brush twice a day, clean between your teeth daily and keep regular check-ups. If you grind your teeth at night, ask your dentist about a night guard.
How long do zirconia and E-max restorations last?
It depends on your bite, your habits and how well you look after them. Regular check-ups let your dentist spot wear early.
Can I eat normally?
Yes, once your dentist has fitted the final restorations. Avoid biting very hard objects such as ice or nut shells, as you would with natural teeth.
